About PetScan AI

Why we built it

When a dog or cat gets sick, there are usually plenty of nearby vets and information to ask around. But for exotic pets like reptiles, birds, and amphibians, specialty vets are rare and information is scarce. When an owner first notices something off, they often don't even have a baseline for judging whether it's serious enough to need a vet right now. PetScan AI was built to help with that first judgment call in 3 seconds.

What the service does

Upload a photo of your animal, and AI screens the visible abnormalities (poor shedding, eye issues, swelling, wounds, etc.) into three risk levels — green (safe), yellow (caution), red (danger) — along with guidance on what you can do right now. It's free to use, with no sign-up required.

We're upfront about AI's limits

PetScan AI is a preliminary screening tool for reference only — it does not replace a formal veterinary diagnosis. Because the AI judges from a photo alone, it can't know information a real exam would catch, like body temperature, palpation, or bloodwork. Even if the result comes back "safe," please visit a nearby exotic vet if abnormal symptoms continue.

Our privacy principles

There's no sign-up and no login. Uploaded photos are deleted immediately after analysis and are never stored. See our Privacy Policy for details.
